What We Buy
We’re interested in the same steel products we stock and sell every day:
- Structural steel — angles, channels, square and rectangular tubing
- Merchant bar — flat bar, round bar, square bar
- Sheet and plate — hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, diamond plate
- Steel pipe — black, galvanized, all schedules and diameters
- Prime, secondary, and excess-prime material — mill overruns, closeouts, slow movers, leftover project stock
Condition matters less than you’d think. Surface rust, mixed lots, odd lengths, and broken bundles are all fine — that’s our specialty. What we don’t buy: structural beams (too many sizes and variables), trailer parts, ornamental iron, and non-metal items.
Who We Buy From
We work with sellers across Florida and the Southeast, including:
- Steel service centers clearing slow-moving or aging inventory
- Contractors and fabricators with leftover or closeout material after a project
- Industrial liquidators handling plant closures and asset sales
- Landlords and property managers with steel left behind by former tenants
- Industrial surplus brokers looking for a reliable, repeat buyer
If you’re a business with steel to move, we want to hear from you. (We’re generally not set up to buy small household quantities from individuals.)
How It Works
- Send us your list. Use the form below or email photos, sizes, quantities, and location. A tally sheet or tag list is great; “about 40 bundles of mixed angle” works too.
- Get an offer. We’ll review and respond fast — usually the next business day — with a price or a short list of questions.
- We handle pickup. Our trucks and our crew. For larger lots we’ll coordinate rigging and loading. You don’t need to palletize or sort.
- Get paid. Net-30 payment on agreed terms — and for smaller lots we can send a check sooner.
Why Sell to Surplus Steel
- Buying steel in Central Florida since 1979 — family-owned, with the yard, equipment, and cash flow to close quickly
- We’re the end buyer — your material goes into our Apopka inventory, not into a resale chain that falls through
- One truckload or one lot — or a recurring arrangement if you generate excess regularly
- Fair, transparent offers based on current scrap and replacement market, stated up front
- We do the heavy lifting — literally: trucks, forklifts, crew

FAQ
Do you buy rusty or weathered steel?
Yes. Surface rust doesn’t scare us — we buy secondary and weathered material every week. Heavy pitting or section loss affects price, not eligibility. Send photos and we’ll tell you straight.
Do I need an exact inventory list?
No. Photos plus rough quantities are enough for a ballpark offer. We’ll verify weights and counts at pickup with our scale tickets.
How fast can you pick up?
For Central Florida lots, often within a few days of an accepted offer. Larger or out-of-area lots are scheduled case by case.
Do you buy outside Central Florida?
Yes — we regularly buy across Florida and the Southeast when the lot size justifies freight. The bigger the lot, the farther we’ll come.
What about aluminum or stainless?
Our focus is carbon steel, but if stainless or aluminum is part of a mixed lot, include it in your list — we’ll address it in the offer.
Do you buy from individuals?
Our buying program is built for businesses. If you’re an individual with a significant quantity of steel (an estate, a closed shop), reach out — we’ll let you know honestly whether it’s a fit.
